Sephora’s Fearless

Hi everyone! How are you?

Sephora is running a charity work (unsure start date). They made a really beautiful shade in a gorgeous red bulleted container similar to its black bullets containing matte and subtle sheen.

This deep berry red shade of lipstick is Rouge cream #100 Fearless.

For every lipstick sold, they will give $10 to Sephora Stands.

When I think of Fearless, I think of Taylor Swift’s Fearless song. I have been wanting a shade called Fearless, but what I have tried would be too bold or bright for me. This feels just right. This shade, I believe is perfect for Autumn season, which is coming soon.

This lipstick is limited edition, but I hope Sephora brings it back after awhile. One sales rep said they will be bringing out other shades as well!

Usually, red shades are too bold for me. I feel like it’s too much for work and daily wear. Few days ago, my mind changed. I’ve been wanting red lips. I found this one, tried it on, and loved it.

This will run you $12.50 (without taxes). They have more shades in black tube, which are not part of the charity. From what I hear, only Sephora stores are selling it. I didn’t find it at JcPennys Sephora and the sales rep at mine had no idea about it.

I wish they had done this for all Sephora’s, JcPenny’s included. But that’s up to them.

I love this lipstick a lot. It’s not too bold, not bright, and makes me comfortable. I feel like I can wear this everyday, even at work, and not be self conscious that I have a popping color on my lips or my head screaming, “MAY DAY! MAY DAY! TOO MUCH! TOO MUCH!

I will be applying this on today and see how it wears. I loved how it wore yesterday, but it was only for a few hours.

Happy Labor Day to all!

Prompt: Cringe+Review: Tarte Pout Prep

Hi everyone. Happy Sunday!

My lips tend to dry out quickly. Not even exfoliators could help them. Few months ago, I noticed Fresh Tinted Lip Treatments helped moisturize my lips longer. But those around $24. And if their tinted, I want more shades. But I don’t want to spend that much on a lip balm.

Exfoliators are supposed to help with prepping your lips and I heard it also helps a little with the drying out. I’ve tried so many. From Dior’s expensive Lip Sugar to the cheapest I’ve heard so far E.L.F.’s in their lipstick package. I even tried making my own.

In between those two, I tried Fresh’s Lip Polish and its new wand type. I didn’t like the wand one as much for exfoliating, but it gave a nice glossy finish to my lips. As for the original Lip Polish, it was alright giving it a second try. Back in college I never liked it. Trying a sample again,  it’s ok. I think I’m not into brown sugar for exfoliating though. And I wanted more in an exfoliator.

GlamGlow’s lip scrub was nice and felt similar to Milani’s. However, I Cringe[d] with the taste in my mouth when little pieces found its way inside (YUCK!). I couldn’t tolerate it. Plus, there was something missing in it.

Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Lip Scrub in a pencil/marker packaging was cool to try. But it got really messy. And it didn’t seem to be working on my lips.

Bite Beauty’s both original lip scrub and Agave. Their whipped one was interesting to try. It applied on my lips without any sugar texture- just creamy. I didn’t think it did the job and don’t understand how it’s meant to exfoliate without the granules.

Agave was better than the original. But I couldn’t stand the smell. Is that just me??? Plus, I’m not into brown sugar scrubs (mainly for its smell).

Lush’s homemade lip scrubs that are delicious! They are popular, but I’m not into the dry texture. Plus, I wanted my lips to be conditioned. They just felt dried…. But it tasted so good (especially Popcorn)!

Milani Sweet Sugar Scrub was so sweet and was like putting a really nice desert on my lips. But let’s face it, it just wasn’t for my tastebuds.

E.L.F’s $3 lip scrub in a lipstick packaging is amazing. But breaks off when I use it. And it’s also missing something. But I’d use it if I didn’t keep breaking them.

Now, I’m sure I’m missing some others I have tried. But before this gets any longer, let me introduce to you the exfoliator I have tried and found I love more than all these.

Tarte has come out with another exfoliator called Pout Prep. I tried locating YouTube videos and haven’t found much on it. It retails for $16 and only has two reviews with ratings of 4-5 stars.

I ordered mine with a 15% off discount as a first time customer on their website. I am not new to their company. I’ve been buying their products from Sephora and Ulta.

Pout Prep is a “minty lip scrub and treatment Balm with moisturizing maracuja, shea butter, and exfoliating sugar to gently buff away flakes and treat thirsty lips.”

Both maracuja and shea butter sink deeply into lips to hydrate, firm, and protect from future drying, cracking, and/or chapping.

This product has vitamins C and E, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Carnauba Wax. If you’re not into wax in lip products, this may not be for you as it does contain wax.

When reading about this product, I thought of the $33 Dior Lip Sugar.

This product is designed with concentrated granita texture that gently transforms into a balm as it melts on lips. Both products consider themselves as a balm.

Are these similar? Perhaps in how their designed to be used. But the textures are completely different. You apply Dior’s like a lip balm and the sugar immediately melts onto your lips. Pout Prep’s sugar doesn’t immediately melt away. And you can remove by rinsing it.

I find when using Pout Prep first time, the sugar did melt onto my lips creating a balm like texture. But other times I’d have to rinse it off.

What is/are your favorite exfoliators?

Orangesicle

Hey all. Remember the post where I showed an orange/white blanket I started? I know you’re thinking, “That was how many months ago???” But it’s finally done. Well, length-wise. I need more width.

I wanted to know what colors would go with this. I’m thinking black and I have been told black. But my idea when I started this was orangesicle ice cream. You know the orange one on a stick with the white in the middle?

This one. I was thinking use a color similar to the popsicle stick. Maybe a cream color. Would that work? What do you think? Would you buy something like that?

Baby Step 1

Okay, so I signed up for Financial Peace University. For those of you who don’t know what it is, have you heard of Dave Ramsey? If so, that might help you out. If not, well, I’m fairly new in knowing about him and FPU.
But the church I attend is offering a 9 week session on managing/budgeting money. If you don’t know anything about Dave Ramsey, I actually had no clue until last Saturday when finding some YouTube videos of his talks.
Dave Ramsey talks a lot about how to get out of debt and be at financial peace. There are 7 steps that he calls baby steps. The first baby step is to save $1,000 in emergency fund as quickly as possible.
When hearing this, I’m like, “How in the world can I save that much quickly?” Quickly as in a month or two. I thought of the bags I have. I have two bags that I received free from Macys purchasing Taylor Swift’s perfumes. I also received a bag free from them purchasing a Selena Gomez’s perfume. I have a fossile bag that looks nice still and I barely use it. I also have bags I purchased from Walmart. I have more bags than I need. So that’s my first thing I could sell.
Speaking of perfumes, can you sell used to barely used perfumes? I have Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted that I cannot use for my poor nose does not tolerate the scent anymore. I also have a Red Door from Elizabeth Arden, Selena Gomez’s perfume, and a few Bath and Body Works ones. Would those be something I could sell? Or would it be like makeup, once used no one would really want to use it or even buy it.

Below shows two bags I could sell. What do you think? How much would they sell for? The Lipstick shape bag is Selena Gomez’s and the other is one of Taylor Swift’s.

Bible Journaling

Who has ever thought of writing in their Bibles? Who has been scolded for it? Well, these days new Bibles are coming out encouraging, calling our creative side out. And no punishment given 😉

This morning, I stopped at Family Christian Store for Bible Journaling. They placed on the table a book with different ways to journal. Some had pictures you could color and others had lines for either drawing or writing on.

This specific store I visited, gave a variety of stickers, no-tear tapes, paint, markers, crayola pencils, etc. After explaining Bible Journaling, they let us roam our creative side. We colored. We talked. Some painted. Some stickered hearts and taped musical notes.

This event was only one hour. But it didn’t feel like one hour passed. After the event, we all sat for a little longer talking. Then, went on our ways.

I liked this event so much and hope Family Christian Store does this frequently. It gave me a chance to meet new people. The manager and one of her employees who led today’s Bible Study were so nice. The manager mentioned a little bit about Family Christian that most people don’t know. She also mentioned her mission trip to Haiti and meeting the children there.

There were only five in our group- a rather small group. But that gave us a chance to talk and express ourselves. A lady that sat beside me, I talked to her before we sat down at the table, she helped me find an Inspired Bible Journaling book. We thought they ran out of those, but she found a few in another area. This same lady also gave me a name to locate online that does Bible Study because I struggle with reading the Bible at times, she thought it would be helpful. I have thought of doing Bible Study. So, that is something I will look into!

So for all those hiding their creative side in their Bibles. Forget all the rules and express yourself! It’s a fun way to relax, meditate, and focus. While doing all three you are also praying, too. It’s like singing, twice you pray! Right? And… you don’t get punished for it 😛
