Hello everyone. How are you?
Today I went to Barnes and Noble. I took a few books and sat to read. Because I am interested in writing children’s books, I went to the children’s section and walked around.
There I saw my favorite series growing up, A Magic Tree House. I never read them all. But they were still my favorite.
Among the books I looked at was A Wrinkle In Time. I sat and read 22 pages before I purchased the book to take home.
“A Wrinkle In Time” actually has about four or five books in the collection. I wanted to buy the first two; however, the second book wasn’t in stock. They sales man did mention they had a Trilogy collection for $20 and if you buy it, you get another collector’s book half off.
In this trilogy book I decided to buy, contained three out of the four or five books- “A Wrinkle in Time”, “A Wind In The Door”, and “A Swiftly Tilting Planet”. These books were written by Madeline L’Engle.
With this book, I also bought Shakespeare’s collector’s book. Because I purchased the Barnes and Noble membership card, I received an extra $2 off one of the books. Therefore one book I purchased for $18. The second book was half off with or without the membership card, making the price of the book- about $10.
Now I have two big books of wonderful stories to read for the next couple months! Unless I finish early 😀
I haven’t finished “A Wrinkle In Time”, but I am very interested in further reading it. Currently, I am on page 64. I have been reading outside on my small front porch enjoying the weather- sun-to-drizzle-to-sun again! And enjoying watching a lizard peep through a hole, then going back in when I kick my feet up a little. Hehe =)
Sitting here reminds me my Dad used to come out here and sit on these chairs I am sitting on right now, enjoying the weather while reading and/or meditating. It’s been almost three months since his passing. Walking through stores makes me miss him more because Father’s Day items are out.
I used to buy him cards, sometimes make my own. I drew pictures one Father’s Day and framed one. He framed the other. It all brings back memories.
Well, I am going back to reading and watching little lizard peep his head out.
